This week, the House is planning to vote on H.R. 9237, the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act, and we need you to call your representative and tell them to vote “NO” on H.R. 9237 and “NO” to cutting veterans benefits.

Tell your Representative to vote “NO” on H.R. 9237
Although H.R. 9237 includes some important veterans priorities that DAV supports, including the Major Richard Star Act, it also includes unprecedented and devastating cuts to disability compensation.
Section 108 of the bill would effectively end future disability compensation for service-connected tinnitus and slash it for most veterans with sleep apnea. VA estimated that these changes would cut benefits for up to 1.5 million veterans and reduce their future disability compensation by as much as $57 billion over the next decade.
Some have said these cuts are necessary to “pay for” the Major Richard Star Act and other provisions we support in the bill. But Congress should never cut benefits for one group of veterans to “pay for” benefits already owed to another.
We need your help to stop these benefit cuts.
